UO Student Group Files Bribery Grievance

EUGENE, Ore. — Four days into campaigning a University of Oregon, student group has filed a grievance against another student organization for bribery.

Ducks for a Difference claims United Oregon is offering free T-shirts in exchange for votes. The grievance notes United Oregon is in severe violation of campaign rules.

Here’s what both sides of the issue had to say:

“We just want both sides to have the same approach to getting student voters,” said student presidential candidate Lamar Wise.

“Both sides have T-shirts. Both sides are handing out T-shirts. It is not we are handing out T-shirts if you vote for our The United Oregon slate,” said Lainie Vinikoor, United Oregon Campaign Manager.

The grievance has been filed with the elections board who will rule on the issue at a later date.
