Music Festival Honors 20 Years of KWVA

EUGENE, Ore. — Students at the University of Oregon were in the final stages of planning a week-long music festival, Sunday.

The festival, called Betterfest, is an alternative music festival that will feature a variety of concerts and parties. It’ll run May 13-18 in honor of campus radio KWVA’s 20 years on air.

“I’m really excited about it because it’s really one of the first efforts like this to be put on by students for the community, of course being put on by KWVA which is made up of students and community members,” said Freeman Thor Slaughter, Betterfest organizer.

The headline concerts will be held at WOW hall. When 88.1 celebrated its ten year anniversary students put on a similar festival, but say this one will be much bigger.
