UO to Host TEDx Talk

4-17 TED TALK - SABRINA PARSONSEUGENE, Ore. — A local CEO will speak about issues surrounding women in the workplace this Saturday at the University of Oregon.

This TEDx event is independently organized through the UO and will explore the ways diversity fuels creativity.

Sabrina Parsons, the CEO of the Eugene-based company Palo Alto Software, is one of the event’s main speakers. She’ll focus on the attitudes toward women in authority roles.

“Every woman, just like men, can just be themselves and do what makes them comfortable and act how they want to act and that there is power in that,” Parsons said.

The TEDx talk is happening Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Beall Hall on the UO campus. Parsons is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m.

Tickets for the event cost $40, which includes lunch.

Is there anyway there will be a recording of this event? I really would love to attend, but have a family emergency. Even if I was to just get notes from the event, that would be really helpful!
