UO Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Nat’l Champs

EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon Ultimate Frisbee Team soared into championship status this week.

Oregon beat Carleton College 15 to 8 Monday, making it their second national championship win. The tournament featured 20 teams from across the country.

Players say the win shows how hard they worked this season.

“It’s pretty surreal and amazing. We’ve worked really hard all year long with this goal basically in mind,” said player Bailey Zahniser.

The women’s team took second last year. It won the national championship for the first time in 2010.
