A Douglas County boy was pulled from the water at Splash! at Lively Park Friday afternoon and flown to a Portland hospital for treatment.
Willamalane says a lifeguard noticed the boy was having trouble and got him out of the water and started CPR. The boy’s nurse, who was at the pool with him, also helped give him CPR. Willamalane says he was alive when he left the pool and was then taken to the hospital.
Willamalane’s manager says the nurse told him the boy suffered from some cardiac problems and seizures.
According to the police investigation, the boy died from a medical condition, not from drowning.
The family told police they would like to thank the community for their concern, and they would like to thank the employees at Splash who did everything they could to save their child.
