VA Clinic Groundbreaking

Still0421_00001EUGENE, Ore. — Crews will break ground for a new clinic that will serve local veterans, Monday.

Congressman Peter Defazio, Sen. Ron Wyden, Sen. Jeff Merkley, and Mayor Kitty Piercy will speak at Monday’s ceremony.

The center will help serve the many patients that currently get treatment at the VA clinic in Roseburg. It will also offer more services, including a mental health lab.

“Our enrollment has increased about 103 enrollees a month. With that increase it’s very exciting to offer the veterans a brand new facility that’s going to have all the different needs that they can possibly need,” said Carlene Kennedy, Ambulatory Care Manager.

The 100,000 sq ft facility will be on Chad Drive and Old Coburg Road.

The center is expected to be complete by February 2015.
