EUGENE, Ore.– Eugene City Council candidate Juan Carlos Valle says incumbent Betty Taylor has done a commendable service in her time as Councilor of Ward 2, but says now he can do better. Today he and Taylor debated at the Wayne Morris Ranch in front of dozens of community members and leaders. He outlined some of his political concerns for South Eugene and beyond. Valle supports the EMX expansion and hopes he can provide what council needs as a voice for economic, public safety, environmental issues and much more in Eugene.
“I know that I’m also energizing the base because there’s a new person on the block. But just because I’m new doesn’t mean i’m new to the issues,” said Valle.
Members of Betty Taylor’s campaign say taylor’s positions on things are clear, but they say valle’s actions are not in line with the progressive that he claims to be.
