Van Crashes into Log Truck

EUGENE, Ore. — A woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a van crashed into a log truck.

The van’s driver was making a right turn onto Beltline from Roosevelt when the car clipped the back end of the truck.

Officers on scene say the driver probably thought she had enough room to make that turn. They advise drivers to be cautious when around bigger trucks

“Big things don’t look like they’re moving as fast as they are. That’s the thing about a big object. They don’t really look like they’re moving that fast, when in fact they are,” said Officer Dale Dawson, Eugene Police Department.

“We were right behind her. Any sooner and she would have been dead because the trailer went right over the top,” said witness Joshua Smeltzer.

The woman wasn’t seriously injured in that accident.
