Vandals Hit Peace Park

EUGENE, Ore. — A plaque honoring President Obama’s 2009 Nobel Peace Prize has been hit by vandals.

The plaque sits at the Peace Park in Alton Baker Park.

The president of Eugene’s Nobel Peace Prize Project says someone used a sharp tool to cut obscenities into the president’s face.

The plaque will be removed and the replacement will cost about $700. The park is funded through private donations.

The group now considering installing a security system to prevent future incidents.
