The school teamed up with the city of Veneta for the event.
The goal was to educate children about Earth Day in a way that they can relate to. There were demonstrations from Sanipac, Lane Electric, Zany Zoo, and there were even bike-powered smoothies.
“They’re having fun, but at the same time we’re sneaking in a little bit of learning about how to recycle how to reuse how to reduce,” said Olivia Johnson, Veneta Elementary School Principal.
“I did this when I was in second grade, and I think this is the best one yet!” said third grader Jasmynne Kallio.
This was the second annual Earth Day event that the school has held. The principal said they hope to make this a yearly tradition.
