The home was moved early Sunday morning as part of a project to help rehab houses for homeless veterans. The city of Eugene, EWEB, St. Vincent de Paul and the Home Builders Association of Lane County all played a part in the move.
Eugene’s city manager and project spokesman, Jon Ruiz, said this is a way that the city can give back to vets.
“Housing can be difficult so this is one way to help them get their feet on the ground. It’s a way to say thank you for the service they’ve been providing for us,” Ruiz said.
The house moved to it’s location and the Veterans Housing Project hopes to have the house installed by the fall.
