Vin Lananna Inducted into Hall of Fame

EUGENE, Ore. — It’s a big day former Oregon track and field coach Vin Lananna.

He’ll be inducted Wednesday into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

In his 35 years of coaching, Lananna (left) led teams to 11 NCAA titles and 42 conference crowns.

He also spearheaded campaigns to bring the nation’s most prestigious meets to Hayward Field and established the Oregon Track Club Elite, whose athletes have set world records and won Olympic medals.

The Hall of Fame ceremony is taking place in Orlando, Florida.
