SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — On Saturday, Northwest Community Credit Union hosts its annual volunteering party Project Community.
It’s from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 3 at nine different locations around Oregon. Three are in Lane County–the Brattain Learning Center, Springfield High School and Relief Nursery in Springfield.
The goal of the project is to help out area youth by sprucing up educational facilities, social service agencies and parks.
“Project Community represents what is a core value for credit unions particularly for Northwest Community Credit Union. We’ve always felt that part of our civic responsibility is to help the children in our communities,” said John Iglesias, NWCCU President and CEO.
Past projects included maintenance of Skinner Butte, Alton Baker Park and Mt. Pisgah’s plant nursery.
