Voters Concerned with Mayor, Commissioner Races

May 15, 2012

By Jessica Debbas

EUGENE, Ore. — It’s Election Day, and so far local voter turnout suggests there isn’t a lot of interest in the primary races.

But some voters KEZI talked with said it’s more important now than ever to let your voice be heard.

From sustainability to Occupy Eugene, voters came up to the ballot box with very specific issues they wanted to support — or, in some cases, oppose.

The two big races people are talking about and did the most research on are the ones for Eugene mayor and the two Lane County Commissioner spots.

If you haven’t done your research yet, you can still pick up information and a ballot at the Lane County Elections Office.

The ballot boxes close at 8 p.m.
