Walterville Pond Shows High Algae Levels

Walterville PondWALTERVILLE, Ore. — Oregon Health Authority has issued a warning for anyone planning to take a trip out to Walterville Pond.

Health experts say they found high levels of blue-green algae in the lake, and it can produce toxins that are dangerous for people or pets.

Officials say you should avoid contact with the water and the toxins cannot be eliminated by boiling the water.
