CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JUSTIN STAPLETON’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Showers and clouds will slowly break up overnight and we’ll see another round of lows to fall into the mid to low 30s and likely below freezing in outlying areas for the morning. A Freeze Warning has been posted for the Umpqua Basin down through the Rogue Valley through 8am, expecting rural areas to see lows hit at or near 32 tomorrow.
A ridge of high pressure is getting closer but still not close enough to clear out our skies for good. So we’ll keep a mix of clouds and sun for both Wednesday and Thursday with a slight chance for overnight showers into Thursday with a weak storm moving around the top of the ridge. Highs both days will hold around 60 in the valley, low to mid 60s in the Umpqua.
Friday sees a small storm ride over the ridge bringing a slight chance for some isolated showers areawide with some trying to hang on into Saturday morning. Highs will stay near average though, in the low 60s. By Sunday, high pressure starts to take hold into next week. In fact, long range models are showing a consistent and nice warm up into possibly the low 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday!
Have a great Wednesday!
