Water Valve Breaks

EUGENE, Ore. — At least one Eugene business went without water Wednesday after a valve broke during some maintenance.

EWEB employees say they were in the process of turning off the water to do some replacement work when the valve broke off. Witnesses say the water went up several feet into the air.

A KEZI 9 News viewer trying to catch a bus said he couldn’t help but stop to see what workers were rushing to.

“It got my curiosity to see them running. So I went over and saw they were trying to put out a fountain in the middle of the road. So I grabbed my camera that I always have and got a little video,” said witness Michael Elliott.

Workers said the problem was quickly tended to.

Neighboring businesses confirmed they weren’t impacted for very long.
