CORVALLIS, Ore. — A group of high school boys had their legs waxed on Monday – all for a good cause.
The boys participating in the Mr. & Ms. Spartan Pageant at Corvallis High School endured some pain during lunch on Monday – one wax strip at a time.
Students and staff could pay to wax a strip of the participants’ legs.
The group has lunch time activities going on throughout the week, leading up to its big pageant on Saturday night.
One of the participants, Eduardo Ramirez, allowed someone to wax his armpit.
“It was really painful but I got through it,” he said. “And it’s all going to charity so it’s worth it.”
The teens are raising money for the Mario Pastega House, the Regional Cancer Center, and the Oregon Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Last year participants raised over $136,000. Saturday’s pageant is at 7 pm at Corvallis High School. Tickets are $15 and are available by e-mailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
The group is also inviting the public to its dress rehearsal on Friday at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door.
