A storm will move in tonight, bringing rain showers and mountain snow. Snow flurries are likely down to the valley floors, but accumulating snow will stay above 1,000 feet. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect above 2,000 feet for the Cascades, where 8-14” of snow is expected through Saturday evening. Another 12-24” of snow is possible Sunday so a Winter Storm Watch has been issued in the same area. Travel across I-5 passes in Douglas County may be dicey Saturday, as 1-3” of snow is possible, so a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued. Showers will continue this through next week with a few more storms moving in.
Pass Conditions: Chains or traction tires are NOT required to get across Santiam Pass, Willamette Pass, or HWY 138.
