Our first big fall storm of the season tested the rivers, the sewers and at times, even the homes, as several trees came down during the heavy rainfall and strong winds. A perfect example of some of the storm's rattling effects: a tree came crashing down on a Eugene home Wednesday afternoon.
ODOT is on standby as these storms work their way through the area. The biggest concern is aerial flooding because of all the leaves on the road, but ODOT says crews are ready if there are any unexpected events like landslides or downed trees.
A big tree came crashing down in the Cal Young neighborhood Wednesday due to some intense winds. The tree fell around 2:30 p.m. on Robin Hood Avenue. The homeowner says their son was home and heard a loud noise.
