    It's an uphill battle for ski resorts who are off to a slow start because of a lack of snow. Ski shops like Berg's in Eugene are open for business and can get you hooked up with any gear, even though the closer slopes like Hoodoo and Willamette Pass are not open.

    If you have a fifth, sixth or seventh grader in your home, you may have seen the Stormtracker 9 weather books that are being distributed to all western Oregon schools. Melissa Frey was in Junction City to deliver those books to all of the fifth graders at Oaklea Middle School.
