Happy Thanksgiving! Showers are rolling through western Oregon today as a cold front moves on-shore. Temperatures are still quite mild and we'll see highs in the mid to upper 50s inland and low 60s at the Coast.
The classrooms at Blodgett Elementary School sat empty Friday after a storm caused outages all around town. The school's principal says they lost power around 10:30 a.m. Thursday and let kids out of class shortly after that.
Highway 242 is officially closed for the season. Half a foot of snow covered the highway by mid-afternoon Thursday, and another eight to ten feet is expected through Friday. ODOT says it's just too difficult to maintain during the winter months.
