Wednesday is looking much like Tuesday, a foggy, drizzly start, but the next batch of showers are on there way an we'll see soggy conditions for the second half of the day. Highs will continue to be slightly above average in the upper 40s.
Mt. Shasta Ski Park has announced their season opening following the recent snow across the area. The park plans to begin operating this upcoming Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8 a.m. Lifts will run from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m.
On Thursday morning, the docks at the Port of Newport were full. Boats lined up, as crews came back from sea to avoid a huge storm with hurricane-like winds getting up to 85 miles an hour.Fishermen spent the morning making sure their boats were securely tied to the docks.
Winds knocked down more than a few trees around Lane County Thursday. In the afternoon, the winds certainly did a number on one tree. A large branch was dangling in the road on Marcola near 42nd Street.
