Weekend Dries Out, Sunny Christmas?

Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:

Showers will continue on and off throughout the evening, however, they should just be rain showers as temperatures have been holding in the low 40s and should only fall a few degrees into the upper 30s for lows early Saturday. The Passes will see occasional snow showers, but accumulations should hold to 1-2″ total, of a slushy, wet snow. We’re kicking off winter officially on Saturday morning (9:11am) with some light showers, tapering off by late afternoon. Sunday we’ll stay dry but likely cloudy with highs back into the low 40s.

Christmas week should be very quiet as a nice ridge of high pressure moves in over the Northwest. A few showers for Monday morning otherwise, morning fog and afternoon sun for Christmas Eve and Day with highs in the mid 40s. Trouble from wintry weather should be at a minimal for folks headed in and around the state.

Have a great weekend!
