SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The Willamette Animal Guild has received a $50,000 grant from PetSmart to spay and neuter 1000 free roaming cats.

The non-profit spaying and neutering clinic, also known as WAG, is calling it the T.N.R. project – Trap, Neuter and Return.

T.N.R Project Organizer Norma King says the funds are vital for helping with cat overpopulation, “It became apparent that with the economic situation that we had and a lot of people losing their homes, they moved and left their unfixed pet.”

King says they’re looking for volunteers to help with the project. If you’re interested just click here. The program is in Springfield only.
