EUGENE, Ore. — William Beaty was found guilty of murdering a Cottage Grove man and will spend 20 years in prison.
Beaty was sentenced today for the stabbing death of Samuel Hunt.
Beaty pleaded guilty on the charge of second-degree manslaughter so he could avoid trial.
After a court-ordered evaluation, Beaty is now considered a “dangerous offender” – suffering from a severe personality disorder.
Beaty has been convicted of more than 20 crimes in his life, including more than a dozen felonies.
