The wind-driven fire is near the town of Entiat, about three hours east of Seattle.
So far it’s burned 5,500 acres.
An enormous mushroom cloud of smoke can be seen for miles.
About 250 firefighters are on the scene, and hundreds more are on their way.
Four helicopters and a jumbo jet are dropping flame retardant, but with high winds of 30 miles per hour in the forecast, the fire is expected to keep growing.
