Winery Raises Money for Foster Children

EUGENE, Ore. — If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, how about heading out to Sweet Cheeks Winery?

You can have some summer fun and help a good cause. The winery has teamed up with the organization A Family for Every Child Saturday to help get kids out of the foster care system and into permanent homes.

There are 11,000 children in foster care in Oregon–1,000 are in Lane County.

“Hole in the Wall is donating the food, and we have beer and wine donated, and beverages donated. We have a lot of pies donated. We’re having a silent auction, and Amy (Clawson) is playing country music,” said Christy Obie-Barrett, Executive Director at A Family for Every Child.

Tickets are $50. There will also be food and live entertainment at the event.
