Wisconsin’s Gay Marriage Ban Struck Down

gay pride flag(CNN) — A federal judge Friday struck down Wisconsin’s ban on same-sex marriage.

The judge ruled the ban violates the United States Constitution, and stated same-sex couples are entitled to the same treatment as any heterosexual couple.

Last June the U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling striking down part of the Defense of Marriage Act.

Same-sex marriage is now legal in 20 states and the District of Columbia.
