Eugene police say she fell asleep behind the wheel and came to just before hitting the gate.
Eugene fire crews have a station at the fair, so they helped the driver right away. They say she was alert after the crash, but medics checked her out and loaded her onto a stretcher.
“She was just taking some medication that made her a little drowsy. That’s kind of what we figured,” said Chris Haley of the Eugene Fire Department.
Eugene police say they think the woman is ok. She was just taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
