LANE COUNTY, Ore. — Barbara Helen Bergmann was reported missing from the Islet campground on Waldo lake yesterday afternoon. Her husband rounded up other campers and started a search, suspecting that she was missing. When the campers couldn’t locate her, they called local authorities.
Deputies found Bergmann today in the water in Waldo lake. The exact cause of death is still being investigated at the time of this story.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a missing woman near Waldo Lake.
Barbara Helen Bergmann, 74, was last seen in the Waldo Lake Area Thursday afternoon.
Bergmann was hiking in the area and when she didn’t return at the expected time, the friends she was with reported her missing.
She is known to walk with a cane and has mobility issues. Bergmann was last seen wearing khaki pants, a salmon colored shirt and an army khaki hat. She is 5’5″, 130 pounds with salt and pepper hair.
