SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Police are investigating a death at a Springfield home but are working around some hazardous conditions.
Crews responded to a house on L Street near Mohawk Boulevard to check on the well-being of the woman who lives there. They say they found the woman’s body inside surrounded by junk.
Crews say it appears the woman was a hoarder and had dozens of cats living with her.
“The house is in a state of disrepair. It’s been that way for some time. And it’s really not a healthy environment to be in for any of our people let alone someone living there,” said Sgt. Dave Lewis, Springfield Police Department.
Investigators say her cause of death hasn’t been determined, but it doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
