EUGENE, Ore. — Set-up is under way for the seventh bi-annual Oregon Women Veterans Conference in Eugene.
The event begins Friday, March 28 at the Eugene Hilton and lasts through Saturday.
Event organizers say they’re expecting 370 female vets to attend from all over the state of Oregon.
The conference features workshops on employment, benefits, health and wellness and military sexual trauma.
Organizers say it’s important for women veterans to share their stories.
“Getting together with other women who might’ve had those experiences can be very healthy for them and help them work through some of the struggles they might have so that they can continue to strive,” said Renee French, Oregon Women Vets Coordinator.
It’s estimated Oregon has more than 28,000 women veterans.
