World’s Largest Touring Grill Stops by Medford

MEDFORD, Ore. — The world’s largest touring grill made a stop in Medford Wednesday afternoon raising money for several charities.

The Johnsonville grill master says the grill is 65 feet long, weighs 53 thousand pounds and can grill up to 750 Johnsonville brats. He say it’s in the Guiness Book of World Records.

The company says it’s raising money for the First Church of Nazarene and then stopping in Grants Pass for the Boatnik parade. The tour launched in March but by the time September rolls around, the grill will have toured across the nation twice.

Johnsonville says it wanted to do something special for its 50th anniversary.

“They built the big taste grill, and sent it out on the road to raise money for charity and it was their way of giving back to the United States,” says Ryan Allison, Johnsonville grill master.

The grill has raised over 3 million dollars for charities like Susan G. Komen.
