EUGENE, Ore. — A local businesses celebrates its one year anniversary by wrapping up a gift for Eugene police officers.

The Wrap City food cart has been in business on Kesey square for a year.

Every month its owners chooses a local charity and donate 10 percent of the profits from the day.

Tuesday its owners handed over a $300 check to EPD to help with the Police Unity Tour. The Unity Tour is a three day bike ride that raises awareness and funds for the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.

“It’s really great that local businesses are stepping up like this,” said EPD Officer Nate Pieske. “Many have already stepped up to support such a worthy cause like the police officers that are in the community.”

“We are all together as a whole in the Eugene downtown, as a cohesive being, and the Eugene Police Department is integral in that and we have to support them,” said Jessica and Eric Thomason, Wrap City owners.

An EPD team plans on riding in the tour that takes place the beginning of May.
