SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The Food for Lane County Youth Farm returns for a fourth year on Thursday at Riverbend.
Youth farmers helped grow more than 35 kinds of organic fruits and vegetables at the farm on Flamingo Ave. Every Thursday, they’ll be selling them at Riverbend.
The farm stand will be stocked with salad mix, spinach, lettuce, carrots, beets and more.
Also at the farm, you can get health and wellness tips from a nutritionist. Registered Dietician Nancy Graham suggests filling your diet with fruits and vegetables.
“Minimize processed food products in your diet and eat mostly minimally-processed, real foods, so fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein,” says Graham.
The Youth Farm provides job experience and education to at-risk youth.
The farm stand will run every Thrursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. through October.
