EUGENE, Ore. — If there were a zombie apocalypse, would you know how to survive?
The folks at the Lane County Fair want to help you out the only way they know how–with a zombie demonstration that’s really a lesson in disaster preparedness. They say what started out as a tongue-in-cheek campaign by the Centers for Disease Control has turned into an effective teaching method.
“Everybody loves zombies, so it’s just a fun way to get the information out. We hope we never have an emergency or disaster, but if we do we want people to be prepared,” said Debi Farr, Trilliam Community Health Plan PR Specialist.
Anyone can find their inner zombie at the fair. There’s a booth for free makeup, and there will be a lesson in walking like a zombie.
