KEZI 9 News is looking for a competitive, hard-working multimedia journalist in Western Oregon.

The right candidate will be a self-starter, curious about the world around them, detail-oriented and a phenomenal team player. Desire to learn and grow is a must, as well as having social media/digital experience. They will be expected to enterprise content on a daily basis, as well as foster and maintain community contacts and relationships. They will also be able to shoot, edit and write stories for multiple platforms to include television, digital and social media. Active live reporting in the field and studio is a must. They will also be expected to work weekends and holidays.

Degree in Journalism is preferred.  Experienced preferred but willing to give the right entry-level person a shot. Must have a clean driving record.                         

A background check and pre-employment drug screen are required.

Weekend Meteorologist

KEZI 9 News is looking for an energetic, personable Meteorologist who can live our Stormtracker 9 weather brand and provide weather reports in Western Oregon.

The right candidate will produce weather content that is urgent, impactful, interesting and understandable to our viewers. KEZI has the latest technology to help you tell the weather story to viewers utilizing WSI Max Storm system, including MAX Reality and MAX Traffic. Knowledge of this system is preferred. This content is not only produced for television, but digital and social media as well.

A baccalaureate degree in meteorology is preferred along with 1-3 years television experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates with AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal. Must have a clean driving record. A background check and pre-employment drug screen is required.

Weekend Anchor/Weekday Reporter

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position is primarily responsible for researching, developing, shooting, writing, editing, producing and narrating reports for a variety of content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, KEZI 9 News Mobile, Facebook, Twitter, MeTV, and other stations and platforms in the broadcast group.
  • Perform live shots from the newsroom and in the field.  Anchor and produce newscasts as assigned.  Serving as a public representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions.
  • College degree in journalism or related discipline preferred.  Two plus years prior television news experience as an anchor/reporter preferred.  Ability to produce newscasts.  Ability to work shifts as assigned including weekends and weekdays.  Ability to use, transport and lift video camera equipment and tripod (approx.  55 lbs.) without assistance from a grip or videographer.  Proficient at shooting and editing under extreme deadline pressure.  Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team player.

KEZI-TV is located in the beautiful Willamette Valley.  You’ll live and work just a short drive away from golfing, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and the beautiful Oregon coast.  Portland is less than a two hour drive away if you need an occasional big city fix.

  • This is a full-time position; rate of pay is salaried.

  • The successful candidate will shoot and edit local news content under a daily deadline, gather information in the field, cover breaking news, and conduct nightly live shots.  Must have experience shooting video and editing on a non-linear platform.  Must be able to use, transport and lift ENG equipment (approx. 50 lbs).  College degree is preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is a full-time position; rate of pay is hourly.

Account Executive

The Account Executive will be responsible for selling advertising to existing clients and building an additional list of clients through new business development.

Join our amazing advertising sales team at KEZI, Eugene’s ABC network affiliate.  We’re the #1 news station and most recognized local television brand in the market. 

3+ years’ experience in media sales or related field is preferred.  Looking for a team-oriented professional with a proven record of new business development, digital advertising sales, transactional account management and a tireless work ethic.  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task well in a fast-paced environment, and superb customer relations skills.   An Oregon driver’s license and good driving record are required as well as a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
