EUGENE, Ore. -- The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is gearing up for family day this weekend.

At the event, children can create art projects made only from recycled materials.

The museum already has an exhibition called “Plastic Entanglement.” They hope the exhibition and family day event will encourage people to look at their consumption and eliminate disposables.

“I hope that people get inspired about ways they can recycle through visiting the galleries of the museum exhibition or through the activities that they’ll be exploring through our family day,” Communications Manager Debbie Williamson-Smith said.

The free event is set for noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

There will be entertainment, live music and storytelling.
