EUGENE, Ore. – School is almost back for your children, but there’s still time for them to learn a new skill during the summer to possibly set them on a new career path before they head back to the classroom.

Lane Community College is offering a free summer welding camp for middle school and high school students.

The first class – which is just for high school students -- started Monday, Aug. 9.

But don’t worry if you missed it. The next classes go from Aug. 16 through Aug. 19 for middle and high school students. The classes run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There are some things you’ll need to bring, like a lunch, mask, leather gloves, leather shoes, and long pants.

If you want to send your kids or if your kids are interested, make sure to RSVP before the first day of the next camp. To learn more and sign up, CLICK HERE.
