EUGENE, Ore. -- If you need a straw or a spoon at the Lane County Fair, you’ll have to ask for it.

Although it’s the first year the policy has had to be implemented at the fair, vendors are ready.

Bubba’s BBQ said they put up signs telling customers to ask for single-use items, including ketchup, mustard, forks, knives, spoons and straws.

They have a plan in place to make the change as easy as possible for customers.

“We will just make sure we have somebody there to hand it off,” Shanna Tyler with Bubba’s BBQ said. “We’ll try to have someone stationed there so no one has to wait for a utensil to eat their delicious food with.”

Other vendors told us they weren’t thrilled about the change because they said it’s a little inconvenient for customers.
