EUGENE, Ore. – Dezzy is a 4-year-old pit bull terrier mix ready for lots of love and many adventures.
This dog’s ideal family will see that she gets some basic obedience training as well as daily exercise and mental stimulation. She is eager to learn and highly food motivated.
Her energy level is likely to be too much for young children, so a household with teenagers and adults would be best. Because it is unclear if she will get along with another dog, a family that already has a dog should make an appointment to see if the two dogs are compatible. She is probably too curious to go to a household with a cat.
Dezzy weighs about 65 pounds and arrived at the shelter on April 30. Her fee is $200, which helps pay for shelter expenses such as vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.
Dezzy was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Appointments are available.
To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
