EUGENE, Ore. – John Dory is a handsome gray and white tuxedo cat who is so friendly he will walk right up to you and ask to be petted.
John Dory has a great purr and likes to rub his head against everyone he meets. Before he arrived at Greenhill Humane Society he lived as an abandoned stray in a neighborhood. One resident tried to give him a home, but when his cat and John Dory did not get along, the man decided to take John Dory to Greenhill so he can find a permanent home.
He described John Dory as an active, playful cat who loves to bat toys around the house and might appreciate access to the outdoors if possible.
He should be the only pet in the home and would do best in a household with older, cat-savvy children or teenagers.
John Dory is 3 years old and is a large cat with a very soft coat. His fee is $60, which helps pay for shelter expenses such as vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.
John was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Appointments are available.
To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
