EUGENE, Ore. – Katie is a hound mix who is looking for an active family that will allow her to get plenty of exercise every day and take her on many adventures.
Greenhill Humane Society staff and volunteers describe her as a sweet, gentle dog with a high energy level who enjoys going for walks. “She has lots of love to give and could definitely help keep your couch warm after a fun day of hiking or playing in the yard,” a Greenhill staff member said.
She can go to a family with kids who are teenagers. She has a good history with dogs so could probably go to a family that already has a dog if it can handle her high energy level.
Katie is 3 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. Her adoption fee is $175, which helps pay the cost of vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and more.
Katie was the Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases homeless pets on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. If you are interested in Katie or other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, click here.
Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Adoptions are currently by appointment only.
To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
