EUGENE, Ore. – Phoenix is a 2-year-old Boxer-mix looking for a family willing to spend lots of time with her.
Her ideal home will be with an active family who will take her on adventures and play with her outdoors. She also needs a patient family who will see that she gets some basic obedience training to help her learn the manners she will need to become a great dog.
Phoenix can go to a home with older, respectful children. She still has a lot of puppy behaviors such as “mouthing” and jumping. Phoenix gets lonely when left on her own, and is likely to vocalize her unhappiness.
Phoenix had a rough time before arriving at the shelter, but after getting lots of tender loving care and some medical attention she is ready to start a new life with a family. For now, Phoenix should be the only pet in the household.
She weighs about 45 pounds and her fee is $100. This fee helps pay for shelter expenses such as vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.
Phoenix was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Appointments are available.
To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
