EUGENE, Ore. – A 3-year-old Chihuahua mix named Poncho is a friendly but shy little dog whose sweet nature will quickly win you over.
Poncho visited KEZI 9 News as Pet of the Week on Tuesday and did very well during his appearance on the Midday newscast and when meeting everyone in the newsroom.
This little dog would do best in a family with older children who will be gentle with him. He is playful, loves belly rubs and has a calm demeanor.
Poncho could go to a family with another small dog, as long as it is calm and respectful. A family with a dog-savvy cat is also possible with slow introductions.
Poncho is a tan and white short-coat Chihuahua mix and weighs 7.5 pounds.
Poncho’s fee is $185, which includes the cost of vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and more.
Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases homeless pets on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. If you are interested in Poncho or other animals at First Avenue Shelter or Greenhill Humane Society, click here.
