EUGENE, Ore. – Ruthie is a mature cat with striking gray and orange tortoiseshell markings and long fur.

She is independent, friendly and enjoys cuddling on the couch. She needs a quiet, adult home with owners who will give her the care she needs. She would be happy spending her golden years indoors, taking naps near a window and living a quiet life. She loves warm, soft blankets and getting plenty of attention.

Ruthie is an affectionate 14-year-old cat who came to the shelter when her owner had to move in with a relative. She would do best as the only pet in the home.

Ruthie’s fee is $55, which helps pay for shelter expenses such as vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.

Ruthie was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.

If you are interested in Ruthie or the other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, more information is available here. A video of Ruthie can be watched here.

Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Appointments are available.

To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
