EUGENE, Ore. – Scooby is a 12-year-old Chihuahua mix who has been at Greenhill Humane Society a short time and hopes to become part of a family soon.
Scooby is a volunteer favorite at the animal shelter. Once he gets to know someone he reacts with excitement every time he sees them. He is a friendly little dog who enjoys playing with toys, spending time on the lap of a favorite friend, and going for walks.
He could go to a family with children as long as they take it slow and respect his needs as an older dog. He doesn’t like to be picked up unless it’s his idea.
Scooby has a good history with other dogs and could live with a dog who has a similar energy level. He has chased cats in the past, but could probably live with a dog-savvy cat if introductions are slow.
He would do best in a quiet home where he can get lots of love and attention.
Scooby’s weighs 12.6 pounds and his fee is $85, which includes the cost of vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and more.
Scooby visited KEZI 9 News as Pet of the Week. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases homeless pets on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. If you are interested in Scooby or other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, click here.

To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
