EUGENE, Ore. – Scruffy is a 10-year-old terrier mix who ended up at Greenhill Humane Society because she was a stray.

This little dog could go to a family with older children. Due to her age she is somewhat fragile and will need a family that will treat her gently. She has a good energy level and also likes to be carried from place to place by her people.

It is not known if she has lived with other dogs in the past, but she could probably live with another small, calm dog. She could also possibly live with a cat with a slow introduction.

Scruffy has a medical waiver that Greenhill staff members will discuss with any potential owners.

Scruffy weighs about 10 pounds and her adoption fee is $85. This includes the cost of vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and more.

Scruffy visited KEZI 9 News as Pet of the Week. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases homeless pets on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. If you are interested in Scruffy or other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, click here.

Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503.

To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
