EUGENE, Ore. – This young pup gets along with other dogs and loves to run around and play outside.
Waylen is a 16-month-old Siberian husky/Labrador retriever mix and would make a wonderful addition to many households.
He is a dog that craves structure and will need mental stimulation and daily physical activity to achieve his full potential. Playing in the yards at Greenhill Humane Society is a joyful experience for him, and a home with a fenced-in yard will be important.
Waylen has lived successfully with another dog, so he can go to a family with a compatible canine. He would thrive in a family that will take him on hikes and walks and commit to some basic obedience training. He will be fine with children who are big enough to avoid getting knocked down during his more playful moments.
Waylen weighs about 80 pounds and his fee is $200. This fee helps pay for shelter expenses such as vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more.
Waylen was Tuesday’s Pet of the Week on KEZI 9 News. Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases a homeless pet on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503. Appointments are available.
To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
